Mitochondrial Medicine: A combined Diagnostic and Research Program Background and Rationale
Continuing the thirty year investigation begun by Dr. Douglas Wallace in 1975, the MITOMED program researches the role of mitochondria in disease. MITOMED's mission is to research the nature and prevalence of mitochondrial disease and to use this knowledge to develop more effective diagnostics and therapeutics.
